Can we stop pussy-footing around the edges of the problems caused by utility companies, banks, and travel companies and say straight out that these companies have used deliberate lack of clarity in their contracts and schemes to make it pretty much impossible to sensibly choose a supplier?

People are not faced with an embarrassment of riches of choice - they are faced with the thickest smokescreens since James Bond drove his Aston Martin.

And the only cure is a watchdog with real teeth that fines to the death companies which act as many of them currently do. Not the watchdogs we have at the moment who do exactly that - watch - but new ones that act. Actdogs, if you must!
